Submission Policy

Terms of Service (TOS) for Blink Fiction

Blink Fiction™ is a free service to both readers and writers.

Readers are encouraged to leave comments for writers. Any comment that might be considered a ‘flame’ will not be approved–so don’t even bother. Spam and advertisements are not acceptable. Comments will be reviewed before being approved for public display at the sole discretion of Blink Fiction™.

Writers agree that the story (or stories) they submit are their original work and they have control over the copyright. The writer agrees to give Blink Fiction™ electronic rights to publish his/her work. In exchange for electronic rights, Blink Fiction will not use the story for any other purpose without first obtaining the permission of the author (copyright owner). The author agrees to allow Blink Fiction™ to contact the author for such purposes.

If the author decides to sell or enter a competition with a story submitted to Blink Fiction™ there is not a problem withholding it from public display. If at any time in the future the author can request to have the story republished–just drop us an email and tell us the author and story title.

Material that is derogatory or degrading to any religion, culture, race, or sex is not permissible.

Stories should be under one thousand words–not including the title. Contractions count as one word. Punctuation is not counted as part of the word count. The story must be complete. If you have a specific need to publish a story in segments, then please contact Blink Fiction™ and let us know your intent.

Writers are encouraged to:

  1. Use a blank line between paragraphs.
  2. Avoid indenting paragraphs.
  3. Remove all double spaces between sentences.
  4. Check spelling, punctuation, and grammar before submitting.

A printed story normally uses a space break (blank line) to indicate a transition of time and/or place. Instead, the writer should use a series of symbols (for example: ‘*********’, or ‘########’) when submitting to Blink Fiction™.

Blink Fiction™ retains the right to modify formatting so it improves reader usability. This includes font style and size.

If you have any questions regarding TOS, please contact Blink Fiction™.

Thank you for your consideration.
